February 2006

International visitors from Pakistan - CPPC would like to welcome the Khan family, our first patients from Pakistan. The Khans have made the 6300km journey specifically to bring their 4 year old daughter for a four week therapy session. Having first learnt of the centre through our website, Mr and Mrs Khan spoke at length with us via telephone before making their booking.

Charitable Donation - CPPC was very pleased to receive a donation from the Pulloxhill Gardeners Club for the purchase of a gionometer. This piece of equipment will enable CPPC to measure and record the range of movement of joints to monitor the effectiveness of therapy.

Mountain Climb - CPPC has happily agreed to help Sean O'Hare, a 37 year old patient, prepare for a sponsored mountain climb in Ireland to raise money for breast cancer. The climb, a challenge for any able bodied person, will be particularly challenging for Sean who has severe Cerebral Palsy. Sean is due to make his climb in August 2006 and donations can be made via his web page. We admire his resolve and wish him every success.

Financial Assistance - Five charitable trusts are now providing financial assistance to CPPC patients. This assistance provides support to patients and their families for whom the cost of therapy would present difficulties.

January 2006

BBC Television - Kim, a 21 year old patient of CPPC, was filmed while receiving therapy for the BBC Beyond Boundaries television programme due to air in November 2006.

New therapist - CPPC is pleased to announce that Aisha has joined CPPC as a therapist. Aisha is very well respected in the industry and is particularly experienced with very young children.

November 2005

Business Awards - Sally Aspinall, Director of CPPC, was voted Bedfordshire Business Woman of 2005 by a panel of leading business, banking and civic representatives. Sally was also presented with an award for Best Business Startup 2005 during the ceremony held at Woburn Sands. The ceremony was covered by both local and national newspaper and television media and Sally made a number of subsequent radio and television appearances.

October 2005

Mobile Team - CPPC has created a mobile therapy team service. While there are limits to the distances and equipment that can be transported, the service does provide a way of providing helping those who have difficulty in traveling to our centre. Contact us for further information on this service.

July 2005

International visitors from the USA - CPPC would like to welcome our first family from the USA. Tim and his daughter Amy have flown to the UK for two weeks specifically to visit CPPC while mum Cindy has remained in the US to look after her brother Keegan. We believe that this is testament to the uniqueness and value of what CPPC can provide.

In between therapy sessions, Tim and Amy have also taken the opportunity to explore the UK and have been as far a field as Wales! London, Medieval Warwick Castle, Woburn Safari Park and many more attractions are all within easy reach. We can provide lots of friendly advice and guidance on how to reach these places and get the most from your stay in the UK.

*** CPPC Official Opening *** - On July 30th we were delighted to be officially opened by Cllr Shiela Forster, Town Mayor of Flitwick, the event being covered by both the press and Anglia Television.

It was a great day, supported by local businesses, professionals involved in the start of CPPC and of course our parents and children.
