Introduction

The Cerebral Palsy Physiotherapy Centre (CPPC) was founded by Sally Aspinall whose daughter Lucy has cerebral palsy.

Sally has spent a number of years researching the different forms of therapy available for children with cerebral palsy and has traveled internationally with her daughter to experience them first hand. She has now combined the best of what she found and brought it together with a dedicated team of therapists to open the first centre of its kind in the UK.

CPPC Philosophy

CPPC's philosophy is to provide an individual programme for each person that comes to us.

Although all our clients have disabilities arising from Cerebral Palsy or brain injury, they are all individual. Therefore their assessment and recommended rehabilitation at CPPC is strictly individual.

Not every client will be suited to all the equipment available and the most appropriate for each client will be determined by the assessment. i.e. clients with low tone may spend more time in the UGUL building muscle than a client with high tone who would respond better to suspension or floor therapy.

CPPC Therapists

CPPC therapists are highly qualified and have many years experience working with people with brain injuries, in particular cerebral palsy. They specialise in Bobath, PNF, Voitja and Doman therapy methodologies and are expert helping each client achieve their full potential.

Our Equipment

Much of the equipment used at CPPC such as the standers, UGUL and suspension equipment has been purpose designed and built specifically for us. We have ensured that our gyms are fully equipped with everything a therapist needs to ensure a client reaches their full capabilities.

We also very pleased to be using the Therasuit TM, a highly specialised and complex device with its design roots in the Russian cosmonaut programme. The suite forms an exoskeleton around the client has been proved to be a very effective form of therapy.

Our Flexibility

We understand that the life of a parent is a busy one, often having to fit work, school, shopping, holidays and much more into busy schedules. Adult clients are much the same and may have other members of the family to look after.

That is why we enable you to book therapy sessions at flexible dates and times that fit in and around your other activities.
